FORMALLY YOURS CELEBRATES 40 YEARS STYLING ATLANTA BRIDES

Founder’s Daughter and Granddaughters Lead the Updated Boutique into a Third Generation.

Formally Yours, an award-winning bridal boutique in Atlanta, Georgia,
celebrates 40 years providing wedding day attire to brides across north Georgia. Founded in 1982 by
Susan Clement, the boutique has enjoyed several updates and iterations over the years, and even
survived a global pandemic, while staying true to its original mission – to meet and exceed the evolving
needs of Georgia brides over the years, helping them to be the most beautiful version of themselves on
their wedding day.

Cathy Clement Butler, daughter of the shop’s founder, now owns and operates the boutique. An Atlanta native, Butler worked at Formally Yours throughout college at The University of Georgia, until relocating to Chicago, IL with her husband’s job in the NFL. Upon their return to Georgia in the mid-1990s, Butler took over as a manager of the boutique and later purchased it from her mother in 2000.
Carrying on the family legacy into its 3 rd generation and assisting Butler today as manager of the boutique is her eldest daughter, Scarlett Sugar.
“I can’t imagine Atlanta brides without Formally Yours,” said Butler. “Formally Yours has been an enduring presence in the metro Atlanta bridal market for four decades; it just feels like ‘home,’ as we are often told by many or our brides. In fact, many women who wore wedding gowns from Formally Yours now return with their daughters and granddaughters to find the perfect gown – it’s really special for us to have the opportunity to work with generations of brides and returning clients.”
Located in Gwinnett County, Formally Yours serves brides across the Atlanta metropolitan area and beyond. The salon is the oldest bridal salon in the Atlanta area. Another exciting development during the 40th year of Formally Yours is the wedding of Butler’s youngest daughter, Savannah Abubakari, who also helps with the family business established by her maternal grandmother.
“It was an exciting year and a great way to celebrate the 40th year of Formally Yours, by throwing a unique destination wedding for my daughter Savannah, who is also our social media manager,” Butler said. “She thoroughly enjoyed trying on many different wedding gowns and sharing them online – except of course her gown, which we revealed to our followers online after her wedding day. It was the perfect way to commemorate this special year in the history of Formally Yours,” Butler added. “It feels as if we’ve come full circle and yet there’s so much more to come.”
Salon hours are by appointment only on Thursday through Monday. The shop is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. To book an appointment, visit www.formallyyoursga.com or call (770) 923-5800.
